TANG

I’m digitizing ephemera from my Spekes & Grogan analog days and found a flyer for a campaign circulating a rumor that TANG, the orange-flavored drink powder famous for fueling NASA’s 1969 Apollo 11 mission, was pulled from the shelves when it was leaked that the name in fact stands for “There are no gods.” We ceased, we desisted.
The short-lived campaign resulted from a discussion about tendentious statements. “Do you believe in God?” and “I don’t believe in god” are equally logical flawed because “god” (and not goddess, or gods or goddesses or imps or sprites or fairies) is the agreed starting point. Saying No still asserts because to subvert you first assert.
